Metal benches at historical home on Officers' Row

We went to visit the Marshall House on one of our walks and this is what greeted us on the porch. I love their style and the shadow is pretty too!

I saw the one in the foreground but my camera saw the second one and I got a surprise.

Flower bed bench

I bet this is a lovely view when the flowers are in bloom. At any rate, it is a good place for people watcher benches.

A Double Blessing --Two Benches in One Yard!

I was walking along a road and spotted this white bench, table and chair.I couldn't get a good view of the whole long bench so I walked a bit further to take the photo from the back instead of the side. . .
and look what I found in my background on the porch! Aren't they both gorgeous? Each in their own way . . .

The Fish Hatchery Benches

After I visited Myrl, I decided to investigate Evergreen Hiway that went east --I had never traveled on it. I went past the I-205 bridge -- well, under it -- and then found the fish hatchery. Looked like an interesting place but was all locked up for the weekend I guess. There was a small lake there and pools for fish and a really nice brick gathering place shaped in a circle. I imagine school kids come for field trips there. I didn't know it existed. Then I walked a bit more but it started to get dark and I had several miles to walk back so I decided further investigations would have to wait for a day when I could start earlier. Later, I learned the old Evergreen Hiway lead to a small city called Camas and another named Washougal. Usually, the only way to get there is by hiway 14 so was happy to learn I could walk there on this old highway near the Columbia River.

As I was leaving the area, I spotted this bunch of benches probably used for lectures to groups of people visiting the fish hatchery.

Old bench with ornate ironwork

This bench looks in sad shape as far as the wood is concerned but a real beauty in the designed ironwork.

Padded bench with no back

This simple padded bench with no back is a nice looking place to rest. I just couldn't get a better angle of it with my camera.

Daffodil ironwork back

I enlarged this photo to figure out the pattern on the ironwork and to me, it looks like many daffodils.

Beautiful Bench for Valentine's Day . . .

I found this on the way to visit my friend, Myrl. . . well, I mean after I visited her, I took a walk on the other end of the old Evergren Hiway and found it. Do you see all the heart shapes in it? I didn't see that when I took the photo -- only after I uploaded it! Ü Happy Valentine's Day!

Bench at John Ball Neighborhood Park

It was snowing lightly but not sticking to the ground yesterday when I was walking around a nearby neighborhood in the snow and saw this.

Rose bench

The iron roses make this a gorgeous bench.

White bench with decorative arms

Simple but beautiful bench; unique in arm decortion and color.

Red bench

Found this red bench very appealing on this porch. I bet when the vines are in bloom, it frames the bench beautifully!

Bench on porch patio with flag backdrop and snowing

Found this bench when I was out walking the last time it snowed. It was hard to get a good photo of it but I tried.

Crude, simple bench

Can't rememebr where I found this bench but evidently, the people that own it feel the need to be able to sit outdoors in nice weather.

By the Columbia River

A couple more benches added to sit and view the Columbia River and if you look "back" you may also see Mt. Hood.

Heart bench

I like this bench because of the heart carving. It looks like it may also fold up but not for sure on that.

Stewart Glen Trailhead benches

The Parks and Recreation Department recently remodeled the end of the trailhead/beinning of the trailhead and it looks so inviting now. On one side you can see the beginning of Burnt Bridge Creek which looks like a small lake. The other is the forest side.

Benches in England

If you go here: Tom you will find several neat benches in wonderful settings on his post from Wednesday, February 4th. I have to admit that I followed a link from Kerri's blog.

Alley view

I was walking down this alley near where I live as a friend wanted to find a safe place to walk using her walker -- the sidewaks are all bumpy because of the old trees -- and I spotted this beautiful bench in the back yard near the alley.

New bench at Stewart Glen

This bench is so new that I could smell the wood planks it was made from. It is near the end (or the beginning if you are walking west) of the Stewart Glen Trail that runs along Bunt Bridge Creek. It overlooks a body of water that looks like a small lake at the end of Burnt Bridge Creek.

More Benches from the Duck Pond

The water looks blue. That is actually a reflection from the sky.

Tree lined pathway with a bench.
Both of these taken at the Virginia Tech Duck Pond.
Lots of ducks there too!

Creek view bench

Another bench I found on the way to Myrl's. An idyllic spot to watch the goings on and have a great view of the creek and yard too.

A Bench by the road. . .

Found this one on my walk to Myrl's caregiver home. I found it unusual that it would be so close to the road and not up by the house.
