Concave home made bench

The man that makes benches to sell at the Farmers Market made this one also. It is very comfortable sitting on a curved bench seat!

Mt. St Helen's ashes bench

This bench was also for sale at the Farmers Market last week. It is partly ashes from when Mt. St Helens erupted back on May 18, 1980. I think it would look lovely in a garden setting and good for a short rest but not very comfortable to sit longer.

Rainbow benches

These looked so pretty sitting there on the sidewalk. If I had a big yard, I would buy one of each to always remind me of a rainbow.

Clifford, the Big Red Dog bench

bench fo young ones. . . found this at Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon. As a child, everyone loves Clifford. Some adults do too! Ü This is really a ride for kids but it looks like a bench. Ü

Trio bench set

I saw the long bench first and then the table and smaller bench. They are such a beautiful designed set! It is a shame that they are not cared for.

Waiting for the ships to arrive for Rose Festival week

These people sat on these simple metal benches waiting. . . it got too hot for me and I went home and watched the ships arrive on the news. 90 degrees is too hot even when you have a nice bench to sit on while waiting.

Two views . . .

This is what the benches looked like with me facing them and having the parking area under one bridge in Portland, Oregon in the background.

I like this view better! It is the same benches but looking towards the Wilamette River in Portland. Aren't those trees just gorgeous?

Yet another Portland, Oregon bus stop bench

Just as I went to take this photo, a lady sat down so I sighed and put my camera away. Then she realized what I was doing and graciously stood up so I could take the photo. Ü

Another Portland, Oregon bus stop bench

At least these are airy if it is a hot day. I spotted these on my way home from Waterfont Park via the Max train. It was on the opposite side of the street of the advertisement bench.

Another advertisement bench

I went over to Portland, Oregon again to their Saturday Market at Waterfront Park. Along the way, when I got off the bus to board the light rail (train), I saw this bench across the street. If I remember right, bigger cities use benches for advertising often. If one is tired enough to want to rest their legs, it doesn't matter because at least the sponsors provided somewhere to sit.

Bench at Tea House

Outside on a "patio" area, they have placed this bench among the tables. It is in a gated yard but I walked up the steps to try to photograph it. I think it has an interesting design.

Small bench at Farmers Market

I guess it comes in handy for when you are taking a break working your stand at Farmers Market.

One more of the same type. . .

I knew I had another one but couldn't find it on desktop when I went to upload. Sooooooooooooo, here it is! Ü

Same but different. . .

These benches aren't there nomally but placed in strategic spots for those who need to rest after strolling the carnival grounds. The Rose Festival is this weekend and while the ships (Coast Guard, Navy and Canadian ships) arrive in the Willamette, the carnival goes on. There will be a parade in the downtown area and all that is associated with it. I have other plans so won't be going to see parade. Yesterday, I had hoped to see some ships arriving but when the temperature got to 90 degrees, it was too hot for me and I headed home on the Max train and then the bus. It was a great day photographing bridges and walking over two of them and in between 4 of them. Maybe I will get a chance to go back before the ships leave. . .

Cement bench in our aptartment yard

This bench looks pretty dismal when the flowers aren't blooming! I guess it is something to sit on for a spell even tho it must not be very comfortable.

#3 bench on NAMI walk in Waterfront Park

The back of this bench has X metal strips besides the parallel boards -- probably to make it more sturdy? It is too bad people had to carve names into the wood.
