Victorian bench at Marshall House on Officers Row

When the Army gave the city of Vancouver the houses called " Officer's Row" for one penny, they had to promise to remodel and bring up to code the houses on Fort Vancouver Way and Reserve Street. They did and now many are condos or rented out as offices for businesses but they look like the houses did in their glory days from the outside. But there were three houses that were decorated in the period they were built -- with furniture that qualified as Victorian. Two of those houses have guided tours Monday through Saturday and it is all run by volunteers and donations.

This setee bench is from the Marshall House. Isn't it beautiful? Looks very confortable also but we were not allowed to try it out.

I'm not sure that people today would be able to buy such a beautyful thing; I understand that noone is allowed to sit there, such a seat must be protected.

Now that would be a lovely place to sit and read and fall asleep!

A seat with style and I guess that you would have to be in style to be allowed to sit there too :-)

Nice! Looks comfy, and as Malyss says, I am sure nobody actually uses that lovely bench any longer...
