Same but different. . .

These benches aren't there nomally but placed in strategic spots for those who need to rest after strolling the carnival grounds. The Rose Festival is this weekend and while the ships (Coast Guard, Navy and Canadian ships) arrive in the Willamette, the carnival goes on. There will be a parade in the downtown area and all that is associated with it. I have other plans so won't be going to see parade. Yesterday, I had hoped to see some ships arriving but when the temperature got to 90 degrees, it was too hot for me and I headed home on the Max train and then the bus. It was a great day photographing bridges and walking over two of them and in between 4 of them. Maybe I will get a chance to go back before the ships leave. . .

I like the coloured ends with the board slats, which are much nicer to sit on than something hard like plastic or stone.

following Rune's lead I'm going to post benches on Fridays - for a while at least.

They seem to be made in order to be build and dismantled easily; I like the different colors. Good mean to find the bench where you left your friends..Ü
This parade seems very pleasant to see. I hope you'll be able to go.

These are some of the more livelier benches I have ever seen. They have caught the festival spirit.

sorry you had trouble locating my bench - I've reduced the number of displayed blogs on my profile which might help.

These benches look fun! The sort of place to sit with friends and laugh and eat lots of ice cream!
