Bench Shelter

I recently had reason to visit an activity center in this housing unit near this bench when I was going on the Waterfalls excursion I recently wrote about on my other blog. I imagine this was once a bus stop for school kids during the War when the housing was built for workers (and their families) that came to work at Kaiser shipyards. It is now low income housing and the benches are not used much, nor taken care of . . .

It's a pity, because I think the surrounding is very pleasant. The fact to have a roof above, a garden around, makes the place peaceful to sit a while.

It looks as if it as served its purpose well... I hope it goes on doing so.

I mentioned this week I had been sent a picture of a nice bench.. It is on show now on my Wiggers World blog, along with a link to the nice folks who sponsored it.

I'm amazed at all of the benches that you find. Excellent work.

I've posted my bench of the week at http://sg-photo.blogspot.com/

Ii is sad to see good, functional things going down like that. The only excuse must me that they make good subjects for photography.
