I had never noticed this bench before. . . maybe it was put there recently. I do know the city was sending out flyer information about buying memorial benches to place around the city with a plaque nearby. New or old, this one id definitely a memorial bench.

It has a certain sadness to it. A bit lonely: it wants someone to sit on it and enjoy the park (or the river?).
The bench itself seems to be old. The wood is used and there are even some graffitti on the wood. Maybe the piece of iron with something written on it was simply added near an already existing bench?..
Anyway, the place is very pleasant, under the tall trees..
No the iron is the memorial plate. Yes, the bench is old -- I jsut never spotted it before as it is up a hill near a restaurant and I usually walk the sidewalk further over to get to the river.
It could use a lick of paint, but it looks comfortable enough for sitting.
I look very comfy as well...
